Why I keep one in every vehicle

Late one night, coming home from a Dodger game, I had a blowout and had to change the tire in a spot with almost no light. My flashlight back then ran on regular batteries, and they were weak. The beam was dim. Better than nothing, but not by much.

Now this one rides in my Jeep's back-seat organizer and in the console of our other cars. I own several. It's held up well, and in real use I find it very bright.

Questions

How bright is it? How long does a charge last?

We don't list lumen or runtime numbers because we haven't been able to verify them. Rob, who owns several, finds them very bright in real use.

What light modes does it have?

Five, in this order as you press the button: high, medium and low brightness, a fast flashing strobe, and SOS in Morse code (three short, three long, three short flashes). The sixth press turns it off. The beam also adjusts from a wide spread to a concentrated spot.

Is it waterproof?

We don't have a verified waterproof rating for it, so don't submerge it.

Can the bezel break glass?

The light has a crenellated metal bezel, and one of the supplier photos shows it striking glass. We haven't tested ours on glass, so we don't promise it will break any particular glass. It isn't a certified or tested emergency escape tool.

Can it live in a hot car?

No battery likes a hot dashboard. Keep it in the glovebox or console, out of direct sun, and check the charge every few months.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed in 2–5 business days, then usually arrive in 4–15 business days. Every order has tracking.

What if it arrives damaged or doesn't work?

Inspect it when it arrives and email support@shopgreatgear.com right away if it's defective, damaged or the wrong item, so we can make it right. Other returns: request within 30 days of delivery, unused and in the original packaging; if approved, we send a return label.

Why I Started Giving These Flashlights as Gifts to Everyone I Love

Last year, my teenage daughter called me from the side of the road.

Her voice was shaking.

It was late, it was raining, and her car had stalled on a stretch of highway with no streetlights — just woods, dark, and not a soul in sight.

She had her phone… but no signal. Her car’s dome light was flickering. She had no flashlight.

Just sitting there, scared, alone, with nothing but the light from her phone screen and the hope that someone decent would stop to help.

That moment shook me.

I realized: we never think about flashlights — until it’s too late.

That night, I went online and bought six of these tactical LED flashlights.
One for her glovebox. One for mine. One for the kitchen.
The rest I gave to family.

And every time I hand someone this flashlight now, I don’t just say “Here you go.”

I say: “This might save you one day. I hope you never need it. But if you do — it’ll work.”
